Synopsis

When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. Eleven years later, Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. She’s not the person she’s always believed herself to be, and her whole life begins to unravel—all because of Finn Holmes.

Finn is a mysterious guy who always seems to be watching her. Every encounter leaves her deeply shaken…though it has more to do with her fierce attraction to him than she’d ever admit. But it isn’t long before he reveals the truth: Wendy is a changeling who was switched at birth—and he’s come to take her home.

Now Wendy’s about to journey to a magical world she never knew existed, one that’s both beautiful and frightening. And where she must leave her old life behind to discover who she’s meant to become…

Review

Switched was surprisingly refreshing, in a world full of stories about vampires, fairies, shifters ( not that there is anything wrong with that ) it was nice to read a story about trolls.

I’ve never read a book about a troll before,  and I’m all for broadening my paranormal collection.

The story begins with  Wendy a somewhat  bratty teenager with anger management issues . Though given her family history I don’t think anyone can blame her. Most of her life she has struggled to find her place in the world. Her mom hates her and the only person to ever truly care is her brother matt.

After a incident at her old school Wendy has had to move towns and school again. Enter our mysterious, Finn.

Wendy feels an instant connection to Finn, though she doesn’t know why . That is until he tells her she’s a troll and that she is here to take her home.  Natural he instinct is to think he is crazy and run in the opposite direction but when the world she is trying to deny exist comes to get her, she  has no choice but to trust Flynn and abandon the world and family she loves.

What Wendy finds when she arrives is far from what she could have ever imagined.  Wendy must find her way in a world she is not even sure she wants any part of.

This is defiantly a easy read and a great place to start for those who are only just starting to read the  ya paranormal  genre
