Review

  Avery is the first book I have read by Charlotte McDonogh and it is  definitely not for the faint-hearted.   With is mix of death, magic, love , hate and suffering.

It is that old plot twist, a strikingly beautiful woman, a handful of hair pins, some strategically placed bandages, introducing herself to her enemies as a he and then falling head over heels in love with the enemy’s son.

After her mate is killed Ava is set on vengeance . But when she get’s imprisoned by the second son of the hated queen, Ava life will never be the same. 

Told from the point of view of 4 different characters.  Ava, Ambrose, Thorne and Roselyn. Though the focus of the story is primarily on Ava and Ambrose.

Ava is Kayan, from the south of the country, where it’s warm and beautiful.The women of  Kayan are free to be whoever they want to be.There is a old kind of magic and spend their lives looking for their bond mate, their one true love. But finding that love is not always a good thing.

Prince Ambrose and Prince Thorne  are brothers. Son of Pirenti, a cold country in the north where bloodshed and murder go hand in hand on a daily basis. To show any signs of humility is a weakness and means your death.  There lifes have been filled with violence and pain  they have been programed to kill, to follow order.

Roselyn is Thorne wife and  throughout the story we are told that she was simple, and strange  But I think that this is her way of dealing with the world she lived in. Pirenti is not a place for women and in a world were even the queen wants you dead you have to do what ever you can to survive.  From counting stars to making wishes.

There is many different things i could tell you about the story but that would give to much away. So what you need to know is that is you like a book full of thrills, spills, love and hate then this is the story for you.
