Synopsis

Paige Mahoney has escaped the brutal prison camp of Sheol I, but her problems have only just begun: many of the survivors are missing and she is the most wanted person in London...

As Scion turns its all-seeing eye on the dreamwalker, the mime-lords and mime-queens of the city's gangs are invited to a rare meeting of the Unnatural Assembly. Jaxon Hall and his Seven Seals prepare to take centre stage, but there are bitter fault lines running through the clairvoyant community and dark secrets around every corner. Then the Rephaim begin crawling out from the shadows. But where is Warden? Paige must keep moving, from Seven Dials to Grub Street to the secret catacombs of Camden, until the fate of the underworld can be decided

Review

The Mime Order  is the second book in the series by Samantha Shannon.  The story hits the ground running, picking up where Bone Season ended.

Pagie might have escaped Sheol I but she  is still in danger and only time will show us who  she can and can not trust. Paige is now the  most-wanted person in London. Leaving her with no choice but to return to the life she used to know. Just when she thought her life couldn't get any more complicated the Underlord and his gang are murdered.

Throughout the story you also get a better understanding of the world Paige lives in. The mind games and manipulation you see unfold helps you to get a better understanding  of the relationship between the Underlords and the community around them.

Paige was a very strong character. She is realistic and intelligent, although at timea she has a react now and deal with the consequences later mentality.

This story is a combination of  action, magic, hope and revolution.  Therw are so many twist and turns that will keep you guessing to the end. Not to mention the last three pages will leave you begging to find out what will happen next.

If you read book one, then you need to read book 2!

Thank you Bloomsbury for this ARC
